This is the practice garden that we have made at our training site. It is not the ideal place for a garden because instead of soil, there is sand. We added a bunch of crushed goat poop to our beds, however, so we have managed to grow some watermelon, corn, and okra.

Hi Jessica,
I'm a friend of Robin's and I'm preparing to leave in September for my Peace Corps service in Malawi. I love the pics you've been posting to your blog, keep up the good work! I also dig your gardening methods too; I'm an avid composter, so it's good to hear about some gardening action taking place in Africa.

Cheers,
Caitlin
